People balked at my suggestion, when I proposed that LinkedIn should launch a short video format on the app.
Back in 2019, I floated the idea of a short video feature on LinkedIn, inspired by TikTok‘s rise.
Many feared it would turn LinkedIn into a platform for funny dance videos, diluting its professionalism.
But here’s the thing: attention spans are shrinking. In today’s world, short, digestible content reigns supreme.
Think tl;drs and snackable videos – that’s the key to getting your message across effectively.
Today, professional short content video platform void is filled by Instagram, YouTube Shorts, and even TikTok.
But here’s the catch: you might not be reaching the most relevant audience for your professional content on those platforms.
As an entrepreneur with a hot new idea, where would you pitch to VCs or angel investors?
LinkedIn, the professional network, or Instagram and TikTok, the land of influencers?
Interesting to see LinkedIn finally experimenting with video features!
Looks like they might be coming around to my idea after all 🙂
