A couple of days ago, police showed up at my door super early in the morning.
Of course, I was fast asleep and didn’t answer the first time they rang the doorbell. A few minutes later, the bell rang again, and this time, I forced myself to wake up to see what was going on.
When I opened the gate, I saw two police vehicles parked in front of my neighbor’s house.
My first thought was, “Is this an immigration raid?”
Living in a predominantly Hispanic part of South Bay, that’s a concern that’s hard to ignore. Fortunately, the reality was much more mundane.
It turned out that a car had been stolen from one of the houses on our street and was later used in another burglary that night. The police were going door-to-door asking if residents could share any security camera footage that might help with their investigation.
They asked for basic details and provided a link where I could upload any relevant video footage.
Here’s the interesting part – the link led to a site called Evidence.com, managed by Axon. This caught my attention.

Sharing sensitive evidence is a critical task, and I wasn’t surprised that the police weren’t relying on platforms like Google Drive or iCloud. But I couldn’t help wondering about the technology and cloud providers law enforcement relies on for such secure data handling.
For those who haven’t been following the law enforcement technology sector, Axon might not be a household name, but their story is fascinating. The company began primarily as a manufacturer of body cameras and Tasers, but in recent years, they’ve successfully caught the AI wave, transforming themselves into something much more comprehensive.
Checkout this video that showcases the Axon ecosystem and real-time applications of their devices, helping officers make more informed decisions and enhancing public safety.
The market response? Over the past 12 months, their stock has surged nearly 150%, reflecting investor confidence in their vision and execution.

The only decent competitor in the sector is Motorola Solutions, which appears to be lagging in this new AI wave.
Founded in 1993, Axon’s journey from being a Taser manufacturer to a leader in cloud-based, AI-driven solutions for law enforcement demonstrates the power of innovation and adaptation. Their solutions not only address real-world problems but also deliver significant value to investors.
I always love a story where you have – a good product that solves a real problem, and in turn, delivers great returns for its investors!
